Bonjour friends! I hope you're all well.
As for me, I am great. Awesome. A-ok. Even though I have finals next week, and a current event paper as well as a Model UN essay both due Thursday. I'm starting to believe retail therapy is a legit thing. I have bought a ridiculous amount of things lately that I'm sure that next month as this time I'll be completely broke and complaining to you all.
I'll start with my thrifted purchases. I was inspired by my blog buddy (and soon to be pen pal) Ally (sunshineandstorms.weebly.com) and her thrifting, that I had to go try thrifting myself! I went for the first time last summer and haven't really gone since, so I was psyched to be back. It's so great finding stuff that I would buy at the mall, but for 1/8 of the price. I don't understand why more people don't flock to Goodwill stores for fashion finds because it is seriously SO rewarding buying adorable pieces for under $5. (Also my dad is excited over my new thrifting addiction because he cringes every time I pay over $20 for anything).
First, I found an ADORABLE American Eagle sweater. It turns out I got the same one for Christmas two years ago but mine was a coffee color, and this one is an icy blue. I don't have anything else in this color and I love it.
THEN I found a long-sleeved maroon shirt. If you don't know me, one of my absolute favourite colors is maroon (sorry, no picture)!
And lastly, I found a black cardigan, which I was so pumped about, before I put it on before school one day and realized the giant hole in my armpit.
It wasn't fun.
Hopefully it is easily sew-able but I'm highly doubtful.
Next, I'll move onto my beautiful tee from Bookworm Boutique. If you don't know, they are an adorable shop that sells shirts, mugs, art prints, almost anything all relating to books! For me it's a perfect shop. I'll take anything that relates to reading.
I also got an Aerie flannel sweatshirt (yes, you read that right. Flannel + sweatshirt.) It was supposed to be $39 but was on sale for $14 and I swear literal tears escaped my eyes when I realized it was that cheap because I fell IN LOVE when I first saw it but I was not about to pay nearly $40 for a shirt.
Then my friend and I went shopping and I should've been looking for formal clothes for my Model UN conference coming up in March but instead I bought a maroon/black baseball tee from HM.
Needless to say, I have a problem.
Luckily I've been slowing down on my spending.
LASTLY, I made even more changes to my blog! I know, you're probably thinking again?! Will she ever stop?! And the answer is yes! I finally really love the look of my blog and it looks crisp and professional (at least more than it did before) and also I added a Chicago pic as my homepage which i am uber excited about since one of my top schools (Columbia College Chicago) is there!!
ALSO I'll add some music for that "music Monday" thing I made up forever ago and never started. Here's a few songs I'm in love with at the moment.
1. Adventure of a Lifetime-Coldplay
2. Fashion-The Royal Concept
3. Safest Place-Echosmith
4. The Love Club-Lorde
5. Sun Shy-Dresses
I wish I could ramble forever and ever about my blog and my clothes addiction and Gossip Girl and music but if I ever want to get into college I have to study. Ciao!
p.s. my Chicago travel log from forever ago is coming veeery soon!
xx,
Sarah
